This historic city, a UNESCO World Heritage site for its Renaissance architecture, shaped his aesthetic sensibility and his relationship with the past.

He did not come to art through a family background or early interest, but rather by chance. On the recommendation of a teacher, he decided to study fine arts, despite having no prior experience. The beginnings were not easy for him – he felt insecure and doubted his abilities. However, thanks to the support of his educators, he persevered and continued his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Seville, where he dedicated himself to traditional artistic techniques.

After returning to Úbeda, he found a new direction in graphic arts and engraving. His project, La Galga, won a regional award for best graphic work and became an important milestone in his career. Subsequently, he was approached by the city council to create the official poster for the city’s festivities. Although his work sparked mixed reactions, it brought him wider attention and paved the way for his further creative endeavors.

In his work, he focuses on the beauty of the everyday—finding inspiration in common objects and situations, such as pieces of fruit, the sheen of sardines, or portraits of loved ones. He creates intuitively, without the ambition to produce conceptual art. He believes that art should be, above all, pleasant, accessible, and capable of bringing joy or relief to daily life.

Nostalgia is also a strong element of his work. In his paintings, he revives memories of the past—his grandparents' courtyards, flower pots, traditional tiles, or disappearing elements of nature, such as sparrows in cities. A recurring motif is the greyhound, which he views as a naturally beautiful and aesthetic symbol.

The cultural and religious context of the region also plays an important role in his work, which he interprets through a contemporary lens, thereby offering a fresh perspective on traditional themes.

He currently works in his studio in Úbeda, where he focuses on painting and printmaking. He shares the space with his partner, Carmen, who specializes in the restoration and upholstery of antique furniture.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1046/6000/9224/files/BeigeModernTrendyNewExhibitionofArtFlyer.png?v=1781019483
